As part of a multi-phase, multi-year District Wide Capital Improvements project, the Maine-Endwell Central School District completed significant renovations to their High School. State of the art science classrooms were added to the building, as well as ten new general purpose classrooms. A music suite was created with rehearsal space, and a new aquatic center was added along with a multi-purpose room and a weight room. In addition, the main office and guidance areas were reorganized, the theatrical systems in the existing auditorium were updated, and a new entrance was added.
Throughout the entire facility, HVAC systems and lighting were removed and replaced, exterior windows and doors, and some wall systems were replaced, and a new roof was installed. These updates resulted in considerable energy usage reductions.
The work at the High School included a multi-purpose synthetic turf athletic field, new track, and upgraded tennis facilities. The project also addressed parking issues, separation of pedestrian traffic from vehicle traffic, and the re-establishment of a pedestrian path to an adjacent neighborhood.
